Three Keys to Entrepreneurial Engagement

It's often said that an entrepreneur will work 80 hours a week so they won't have to work 40 hours for someone else. Time is very important to entrepreneurs, that's why the organizations that engage them should adopt a clear strategy to ensure that their not wasting their time. There are three keys to successful entrepreneurial engagement that organizations need to adopt, inform, engage and empower.

Inform: This is where you want to be intimate and intelligent. Get close to your entrepreneurs, talk to them. Uncover what they are struggling with and what information you can impart to help them. Be sure to utilize your Pitch network page for webinars/google hangouts and live chats within your pitch network window. Use the about section to post links and videos to create a reservoir of information for your community. Make it a practice to allow entrepreneurs to have a say in your programming.

Engage: This is where you let your dynamic community you organized to do the work. Your job is to provide intimate networking events, meetups, activities and launch parties that allow your community to interact and naturally create relationships that last a lifetime. Take advantage of the informative events you plan by allotting plenty of time for entrepreneurs to interact before, during and after an info session. Make it a practice to introduce entrepreneurs to mentors and mentors to entrepreneurs. Give your entrepreneurs every opportunity to pitch their business to the members within your network. Utilize mobile technology to interact with projects during live events, sign up fundraisers and volunteers for support and to influence ranking. Most importantly, celebrate, celebrate, celebrate. Celebrate the entrepreneurs that made it, celebrate the entrepreneurs that got funded, celebrate the entrepreneurs that are making traction, celebrate the entrepreneurs who are starting out. Entrepreneurship is hard, celebrating is a great psychological boost for your entrepreneurial community and a wonderful reminder to stay the course.

Empower: By far the most important engagement strategy is empowerment. This is why pitch competitions should be a part of every entrepreneurial engagement strategy. Pitch competitions allow entrepreneurs to share what they have learned, discovered and present an equally great opportunity for organizations to celebrate the fruits of their programming. Utilize your Pitch Network Page during live pitch competitions, conduct live rankings for maximum suspense. After top projects are ranked allow your network to get involved in the voting process.Together with your network assist entrepreneurs in raising
the money with your fund and with donations to individual projects.
